From short 10-second to 1-minute meme background music to more epic 5-10 minute musical landscapes that take you somewhere special and nowhere you have ever been.

Some of the instruments used are acoustic guitars, electric guitars, and bass guitars, as well as Yamaha and Korg Work Stations, Roland keyboards, and acoustic and programmed drums.

My Musical Gear and Philosophy

My first name is Cort; of course I play “Cort guitars”. They are fantastic, beautiful instruments with great sound and some of the best bang for your buck you’ll find anywhere. And they were built on the other side of the planet, furthering my lifelong belief that “yes, it’s a global world, and music has no borders and is definitely a universal language". I also play Fender Stratocasters, Gibson Les Paul's, as well as Ibanez, Schecter, and Ovation.

Musical Influences and Journey

Musical influences started as a young child with Mom playing show tunes and country music on the piano. Being mesmerized by music never left. As an early teenager, Dad bought me my first electric guitar, and there was no looking back. Little did I know what a lifelong obsession this would be.

Born in Queens and raised in the New York area, influences were wide and varied, from Madonna to Metallica and everything in between like Kiss, Joan Jett, Slayer, Judas Priest, Pantera, Van Halen, Led Zepplin, Whitesnake, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, George Lynch, Nuno Bettencourt, Josh Smith,Andy James,Foo fighters, Pink, Rihanna, Cristina, Britney, Patt Benatar, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, and the Rappers like Biggie, Tupac, JayZ, Dr Dre, Snoop Dog, Ice Tea, Ice Cube, M and M, NickiMinaj, and believe me when I say countless others. You guys all made my life better immeasurably. Melody and its healing qualities drives me always as I sit down and write. Music has the ability to really take us somewhere—from energizing to calming and relaxing us when we are in places words just can’t help.

My Life Beyond Music

I, Cort John Paul, have spent 25 years as a professional tattoo artist as well as a self-publisher of original tattoo flash, selling art in all 50 states as well as 10 different countries around the world. I have tattooed an amazing variety of musicians, from the risk-taking “pop click” to the “The masters of Metal to the Always engaging Rap scene".

I may have tattooed somewhere between 25,000 and 50,000 people (looking back is still a bit fuzzy). Not once was music not playing in the background or outright blasting. I believe with all my heart in the healing powers of music. It is our forever friend and companion for life.

Who are you supporting?

I am a person of the arts who thinks our diversities are the key to world growth. Never fit in with haters or the manipulative. I support the freedom of all people to love who they want to.

I am the son of an FDNY fireman and a woman who made the best home anyone could ask for. I think society would grind to an immediate halt if the emergency services (all included) didn’t do what they do.

My Values and Inspirations

I believe in innovation and people who think outside the box. I also believe in looking at the past with great thanks, but also someone who has seen his mother live 25 years longer after beating the cancer that took her mother’s life because someone dared to say, “what if we try this…”
